Back to School

With our oldest starting football two-a-days two weeks before the first day of school and our middle son starting early morning soccer practice a week before school we had been preparing for the first day of school for close to two weeks once it finally came. We spent our days getting ready for each days practice with work out laundry washed, dinner made each night and setting alarm clocks for early summer wake up times. (6:02 a.m. ouch) In between practice schedules we made almost daily errand runs for back to school shopping; new shoes were bought, outfits,  school supplies with new backpacks for our last three and the required Ipad for our oldest bought the night before school. ;)  The new lunch boxes seemed to be the hardest decision made this year when I thought it was going to be finding enough student uniform Polo's for our oldest...

2nd grade, 6th and Junior
A few nights before school started I had asked the kids over dinner what they want to be when they grow up. (our oldest was at football...) Their responses were quick; our youngest wants to be a dentist and a NASCAR driver, girlie is looking forward to being a dentist with our youngest and she wants to run an animal shelter, our middle son dreams of going to IU to play on their soccer team while studying business/music/theater with plans to be a musician and an actor. If I had to guess I would say our oldest is hoping to be a business major just like his Dad and then maybe apply to medical school...

Tomorrow our youngest starts kindergarten. I can't believe it. I made a dental appointment for myself right after morning drop off so I won't be tempted to hide in the bushes outside his classroom window. I kid. Kind of. ;)

And the verse that keeps running through my mind as it's back to school time ::

Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles.
His faithful love endures forever.
Psalm 136:4
