Saturday

Daddy/Son date night.

As I lay on the bottom bunk with our 4 year old last night
our 9 year old half whispers, "no alarms for tomorrow." It was a night for resting easy. We were getting to bed 'on time' and not planning to get up early. The only thing on our minds as we said our bed time prayers was for the patient Daddy was off seeing...
Last Saturday night it was our middle son treating his Daddy to a night out. He had won 2 tickets to the NBA basketball game in the school auction. His teacher said they "were well deserved." And he kept the win a secret until Christmas Eve...
They had a wonderful time going out together and had planned to make an evening of it with dinner out before the game. They stopped in at Shapiro's a family favorite deli downtown. It was then that my husband realized our middle son was sitting next to him without a coat. Thankfully, after looking through the car they realized his winter coat was in the car...
Once they arrived at the game they picked up their tickets at the Will Call window. They were pleasantly surprised when they found the seats to be on the floor under the basket 20 rows back. They enjoyed the game without interruption getting popcorn and water without caps...
This morning our middle son was the first one up. 7:30 a.m. Daddy made it home at 1:30 a.m. from seeing his sick patient in the hospital so I got up to spend alone time with our son. We decided to pull out his spelling words to work on for the upcoming 4th grade Spelling Bee and I was so, so thankful his Daddy/Son date night wasn't last night-
Kisses,  Hershey's Moma {amy}
