A Birthday Party

They said I could only take one picture for the whole night - I snuck in a few extras!
I took them to the pool and they played Monkey in the Middle with the football for the bulk of their time.

The lifeguard thought they were getting a little aggressive. I thought they were doing fine. The lifeguard was concerned for the little ones in the pool. He didn't want them to get hit with the football.

They were doing a great job keeping it in the deep end and away from the little ones in my opinion. And they were having a great time. They decided to move to the lap pool and they swam through a couple of races. Then we went to dinner at the Noodle Co., Inc. They ate a great meal and we sat and talked for a long time. I asked the boys what it was like to be 13.(I got an ear full!) We also talked about favorite vacations, where they want to go to college, cooking. . .

Then we stopped by the deli down the street to pick up dinner for daddy and the cake. We headed home and he opened his presents from his friends. This one was wrapped very well - in many layers of duck tape!

Happpy 13th birthday my cool teen. He said, "really, mom, do I have to have candles?" "Yes, sweetie." One of the boys said, "yes, so we can lick them!" And they did.
After cake and icecream the boys headed to the basement to play. They played some more Monkey in the Middle, The Game of Life, Jenga, Wii, and watched some basketball while they were waiting on a movie to download onto the Playstation.

This cutie pie came home from Nana and Papaw's house just a little before bedtime. After I had tucked him in he decided to get out of bed and wash his pony. You can't tell from the picture, but he used about 1/2 a container of the extra large soap refill from under the bathroom sink. That's one clean pony! It also smells great.
The middle 2 children are having their own sleepover party at Nana and Papaw's house. They were so excited. We went to Wal-mart to get little party toys and drinks just before I dropped them off. Little Mr. picked out new golf clubs, Little Miss got a hula-hoop, and Middle Mister got a bucket of sidewalk chalk.

Monkey in the Middle fun. The boys have had a great time.

You can see the basketball game on in the window.
His friends only call him by his last name. His littlest brother caught on and started calling him by his last name too. It sounded very funny. I don't think he even really knows it is our last name.
Goofing off.

He is going to love this picture in a couple of years!
They are making popcorn right now and I hear the pop cans opening. Maybe their movie is ready to go. They are watching Drumline. I think that will keep them up until 1am ish. I can only hope they will fall asleep while they are watching the movie!
Hershey's Moma

*Daddy was up most of the night working, and reported to me the boys were sleeping on and off for most of the night. They ate through 9 bags of microwave popcorn and all fell asleep on the couch with the ottoman being bed to the birthday boy-
